What a plumber invoice should include
A good plumbing invoice leaves the customer with no questions. Show your business name and contact details, your KRA PIN if you have one, the customer and the site address, an invoice number, and the date of the job.
Break the cost into lines
List the call-out or assessment fee, labour (hours and rate), and each material separately: pipes, fittings, a new mixer tap, sealant. Customers accept a bill more easily when they can see where the money went.
Tips for getting paid on time
- Ask for a deposit to cover materials on bigger jobs.
- Put your M-Pesa Paybill or Till number and the invoice number as the account reference.
- State the due date on the invoice, for example 7 days after completion.
- Send the invoice the same day while the work is fresh in the customer's mind.
Should I charge VAT on a plumbing invoice?
Only if your business is VAT-registered. If it is, tick the VAT box and the 16% line is added to the total. If you are not registered, leave it off.
Can I change the sample lines?
Yes. Every line, price and note is editable, and your changes are saved in your own browser for next time.
